Downloading a playlist is fundamentally different from downloading a single video — you're dealing with a list that can change while you're working through it, videos that may be private or region-blocked mid-list, and an order you probably want to preserve. This page covers those specifics rather than repeating the single-video conversion steps.

⚠️ Authorized use only: Only download playlist content you own or have explicit permission to use, video by video.

Public, Unlisted, and Private Playlists

A public playlist URL (containing list=) works exactly like any other link — paste it and the tool reads the list. Unlisted playlists work the same way as long as you have the direct link, since "unlisted" only means it doesn't appear in search or on a channel page. Private playlists are a hard stop: they require your logged-in YouTube session to view at all, and iDownloadd — like any browser-based tool that isn't authenticated as you — cannot access them. That's intentional, not a limitation to work around; it's the same reason private videos are blocked outright.

Keeping the Order Intact

Playlists have their own internal ordering separate from each video's upload date, and it's easy to lose that order if you're converting videos one at a time from a list. iDownloadd reads the playlist's actual sequence and numbers the queued conversions accordingly (01, 02, 03...), so if you're rebuilding an album, a course, or a tutorial series, the resulting files sort correctly in a file browser or music app without you needing to rename anything by hand.

Working Through a Playlist

Copy the full playlist URL (it will contain &list=...), paste it above, and click Fetch Info. The tool lists the videos it found in order — pick your format and quality once, and it applies to each conversion in the queue.

What Happens When a Video in the List Is Blocked

Playlists occasionally contain a video that's been deleted, made private, or geo-restricted since it was added — YouTube shows this as "Video unavailable" in the playlist itself. When that happens mid-queue, iDownloadd skips the unavailable entry and continues with the rest rather than failing the entire batch, and flags which item was skipped so you know your set isn't silently incomplete.

From Usman, the developer: The first version of playlist handling failed the whole batch if a single video in a 40-item list had been taken down. That meant one dead link could waste the entire queue's processing time. I rewrote it to isolate failures per video after watching this happen on a course playlist where the 12th video had gone private — the other 39 shouldn't have been held hostage by one bad entry, and now they aren't.

Single Videos vs. Full Playlists

If you only need one video from a list, paste that specific video's URL rather than the playlist link — our YouTube to MP4 or YouTube to MP3 converters handle single videos more directly without the queue overhead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I download an entire YouTube playlist at once?

Yes, paste a playlist URL (containing list=... ) and iDownloadd lists the videos so you can convert them to MP4 or MP3 individually.

Does the playlist downloader work on private playlists?

No. Private and unlisted playlists you don't have direct access rights to are blocked, consistent with our authorized-use policy.
